Prerequisite: Students should be familiar with basic fractions and decimals, basic problem solving skills, knowledge of basic geometry, recognizing patterns, etc

Textbook: Saxon Algebra 1/2 3rd edition

Materials: Three ring binder with notebook paper, graph paper, basic calculator, protractor, compass, pencils

It is also suggested that parents purchase a solutions book but it is not required.

Supply Fee: $20 per year

Length: 1 1/2-hour Class

Class Description: Algebra 1/2 prepares the student for more difficult concepts In algebra by covering topics, such as negative numbers, integers, properties of operations, exponents, factorization, and the manipulation of equations. Students will be expected to complete and submit homework weekly.

Final grade=(total homework average x 20%)+ (Total test average x 80%)

Teacher Biography: I have 20+ years of experience in the classroom. I have also had the privilege of homeschooling my three children 15 of those years and have graduated my two oldest. In addition, I have tutored a number of students through the years and taught various co-op classes. It is my joy to work with students who are eager to learn and help them reach their academic goals.
