Hands-on Math 2

Prerequisite: Students should be able to add and subtract within 100, understand place value up to the hundreds, work with simple word problems, and have some experience with equal groups, shapes, and simple fractions.

Length: 1 hour Class

Class Description: This class is loosely based on Math-u-See and is an extension of the math students are working on at home. It is designed to deepen understanding of key concepts using manipulatives, movement, songs, and games!

Throughout the year, we will be focusing on various mathematical concepts and understanding the importance of math in our daily lives. Concepts will include telling time, counting money, division, multiplication, area, perimeter, reading graphs, fractions, and units of measurement.

Each week will consist of learning a new topic and an activity to follow.
