Class Description: Students will learn the fundamentals of playing one of the following instruments: flute, clarinet, trumpet or cornet, trombone, percussion. The following instruments require consultation with the director: oboe, bassoon, saxophone, French horn, baritone (euphonium), tuba.
Daily practice to keep up with class expectations.
Teacher Biography: Mr. Fast is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree. He also earned a Master of Music Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. Mr. Fast has taught in public schools for 28 years: four years in Bethany and twenty-four years in the Putnam City District. He has 4 grown children and conducts/plays in the orchestra at Bethany First Nazarene Church. In addition to teaching band, Mr. Fast refurbishes instruments and makes them available to homeschool band students at reasonable prices. He is in his 15th year of teaching homeschool bands. Credentials: Bachelor of Music Ed. – Southern Nazarene University, Master of Music Ed. – University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma Certified Teacher, Director – Oklahoma Homeschool Bands, President – Heartland Homeschool Bands and Strings Foundation.
