Isaiah Imse

8th – 12th Grade

Textbook: Greek for All by Stan Kondrat

Materials: Paper and pencil

Supply Fee:

Length: 1 hour Class

Class Description: This is an intro to Koine (biblical) Greek, we’ll delve into the intricacies of the Greek language, including the basics (like the alphabet), all the way to speaking it! This is an introduction, but I used this course personally at the beginning of ‘25 and it helped me tremendously. The goal of this class to make your student be able to look at a Greek New Testament or the Septuagint and be able to understand it.

As for how the course will progress, we’ll start with the basics like the alphabet and move to how the letters pair together and how they sound (conjunctions, diphthongs, and breathing marks). Once we have a basis for that, we’ll start learning words! Slowly, at first just 20 words in the first 1-2 lessons and then learning more words as we progress. Those 20 words will be the only 20 words used until more are learned. My goal is that your student never sees an “unfamiliar” word. I’m taking pretty much word for word from the description of the textbook, as it is the base for this class. I hope if you decide to let your kid learn this from me, I’ll do all I can to teach them and give all the Glory to Θεός! (Greek for God :P)

Teacher Biography: Hey! My name is Isaiah Imse, I graduated ’25 and decided to come right back to school to teach! I have a passion for learning theology which is what lead me to Greek, which is the only class I’m teaching ‘25-‘26. I’m still a student of the language but I’d say that of English, too. As for my experience I’ve TA’d 3 1/2 classes (one was one semester) and lead multiple Bible studies and small groups consistently for the last 3 years, and I’ve decided to delve into teaching a class for myself this year. With this being my first time diving into teaching academically, please not only pray for your students but also for me!!
