Class Description: This is a creative writing course that will use the medium of tabletop roleplaying games to engage with students and prompt them to write their own stories and create their own works.

We will start with deciding on a game system amongst our class. Then we will learn how to create characters following the basic steps in our chosen game system. Once we have made those characters we will learn how to paint miniatures and will paint miniatures of the students’ created characters. Students are encouraged to use whatever artistic mediums they enjoy to further realize their characters alongside the writing required for the class. Once we have the characters created we will focus on world-building, creative writing and cooperative storytelling while playing through a tabletop campaign. During this time there will be writing assignments each week that will prompt the students to further explore their created characters.

The supplies cost will go towards buying or 3d printing miniatures of the students’ created characters, paint for those miniatures, brushes for the students to use, dice for the game we choose and a notebook for each student to keep information about their character inside of for our assignments and campaign.
