Class Description: This course offers a study of the foundations, principles, and structures of the United States government. Students will explore the Constitution, branches of government, and the role of citizens in a democratic republic. We will also look at political parties, elections, and the role of citizens in a democracy. Through engaging discussions, critical thinking activities, and real-world applications, students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to become informed, responsible citizens.

Teacher Biography: Hannah DeForest is a homeschooling mom and small business owner based in Oklahoma City. She earned her bachelor’s degree in history, with an emphasis in political science and secondary education, in 2014. Hannah is passionate about helping others understand the flow of history and how Scripture can guide us in navigating our own time. She also cares deeply about personal growth and enjoys coaching others in discovering and developing their gifts and communication skills.
