Class Description: God’s Design: Heaven & Earth is the name of the textbook from Masterbooks. God is the Creator and the Bible can be trusted. God is the Master Designer and we can see His work all around us! He created everything with a plan and purpose, there is order to our world. This class will concentrate on the “Our Weather & Water” and “Our Earth” parts. We may have a special short session with activities for your family over December break to explore a bit of “Our Universe” section. Each week the student will have a reading assignment and questions to complete at home. In class we will discuss what we have read and go deeper with activities and more information. We will do things like build a tornado in a bottle, study wind patterns and learn to measure rain. We will also try map making, build a model of the Earth, investigate rocks, and search for minerals from the kitchen. We will have unit quizzes for which they can use their book. We will also do 4 reports through the year.

Grades calculated as:

Homework 30% + Quizzes 30% + Reports 40%

Any student 6th grade (or over) will have a few extra questions/assignments.
I will try to make the grades not stressful and I will make it fun and informative, so even your younger student that doesn’t care about grades will enjoy. I want us to learn so much more about our wonderful Creator as we look at His designs!
