Ancient History

7th -10th Grade

Textbook:

Materials: Books listed below.

Supply Fee: $10 per year

Length: 1 hour class

Class Description: This class will use a combination of Beautiful Feet curriculum’s Ancient History Intermediate pack and Sr High pack as the outline. From the website:

“Discover the mysterious and fascinating Ancient world! This was a time when humankind was making leaps and bounds as the written word was established, the wheel invented, and ziggurats and pyramids arose amid societies typically thought of as rudimentary. Each section is built around engaging and historically accurate literature.” This course will cover ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo Persia, Greece, and Rome! This was a brutal time, and we will touch on some difficult topics. I’ll do my best to keep it age appropriate.

Homework will consist of vocabulary, map work, projects, and whatever else I can find for us to do to make this time period come alive!

We will be reading several books over the course of the year. Please have the book or books before the beginning of the month we read them.

Note: Books are from the Beautiful Feet Ancient History Curriculum. Please talk to me if you have any questions about which books you should get.

Teacher Biography: My name is Robin Imse (pronounced sort of like saying the letters MZ). I’ve been homeschooling our four kids since our oldest was in pre-k and now he’s looking at graduating high school! While my educational background is more art focused, I love history and literature, too. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, but the Lord moved our family to Oklahoma a few years ago and we are so thankful to be here!
